JEFFREY E. FAHYS is an associate with the firm. Mr. Fahys' practice involves a wide range of commercial litigation and insurance coverage matters with a focus in the areas of oilfield and energy related risks (onshore/offshore), maritime, products liability, professional liability, insurance coverage litigation/subrogation and general tort liability. Mr. Fahys represents clients in complex coverage disputes and he litigates in both federal and state courts. The cases he works on involve numerous types of policies including energy package, operator's extra expense, offshore/onshore construction, E&O, business interruption, builder's risk, exploration & development, hull/protection & indemnity and general liability.

Mr. Fahys' experience has included:

• Representing underwriters/insurers in non-litigious and litigious resolution of claims totaling over $300 million resulting from damages caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
• Represent insurers in litigation involving over $120 million claim for flood damage to refinery.
• Second chair in pesticide warehouse fire trial where an $8.35 million verdict was obtained.
• Second chair in well control/blowout subrogation trial where Westmoreland Hall obtained verdict totaling $4.7 million in favor of plaintiff insurer.
• Represented London underwriters in $100 million coverage dispute involving damage to thrusters of semi-submersible rig.
• Adair v. Bestek Lighting and Staging Corp ., 298 A.D.2d 153 (N.Y.A.D. [1 st Dept.] 2002), where defense of construction contractor in personal injury suit resulted in dismissal of plaintiff's Labor Law section 240 claim by summary judgment and favorable decision on plaintiff's appeal.
