WENDY BLANCHARD HALL is a founding shareholder of the firm. She is a trial lawyer who concentrates her practice in commercial litigation in the areas of insurance and energy related matters, business tort, attorney malpractice, and casualty and products liability litigation in the state and federal courts of Louisiana and Texas. She has also represented insurers and independent oil and gas companies in multi-million dollar recovery actions. She counsels primary and excess insurers involving coverage and has spoken on numerous issues involving insurance coverage and bad faith litigation.

Representative Experience:

Ms. Hall has represented a broad spectrum of insurance companies and individual corporate company clientele at trial, arbitration, and settlement of significant cases including:

  • $25 million recovery claim for Texas oil and gas operating company and its insurers resulting from the blow-out of an oil well and platform in the Gulf of Mexico. Case was tried in Houston Federal Court and verdict was affirmed on appeal by the Fifth Circuit. Ms. Hall also handled all briefing on appeal.
  • $5 million recovery of claim for Texas oil and gas operating company and its insurers resulting from blow-out of an oil well in Vermillion Parish, Louisiana. Case was tried to verdict in state court, Louisiana and settled while appeal was pending.
  • Represented an oil and gas non-operator in a blow-out matter involving two deaths and multiple defendants in Harrison County. Lawsuit was settled and Ms. Hall's client was dismissed without making a contribution to settlement of the claim.
  • Represented certain London insurers in a $25 million dispute with a Houston oil and gas operator which arose from a political risk policy. After mediation of the case in London, and further litigation in Texas as a result of mediation, Ms. Hall's client paid less than a quarter of the original demand.
  • Representation of insurer against $100 million coverage dispute by corporation regarding trademark patent infringement in Harris County. Two of four policies dismissed on summary judgment and a favorable confidential settlement was reached on the remaining two policies during trial.
  • Representation of underwriters in a $40 million products liability case involving faulty products which caused a Louisiana hospital significant structural damage. A favorable confidential settlement was reached.
  • Representation of London underwriters in a $50 million coverage dispute over an underground gas line system in Wyoming which resulted in a complete withdrawal of the claim and dismissal of the suit by Plaintiff.
  • Represented attorney (San Antonio) in attorney malpractice action with a dismissal of case being obtained on summary judgment.
  • Recovery of $1 million in a product liability case on behalf of London underwriters insuring a Texas power company in a matter arising out of faulty repairs to a floating power barge in the Dominican Republic.
  • Represented London insurers in $50 million coverage dispute in Texas state court against professional liability claim by accountants involving failed investment scheme.
  • Represented London underwriters who insured certain investments by Enron and others in Enron bankruptcy. Obtained favorable settlement.
